George R. R. Martin Might Be Hinting at Elden Ring TV Adaptation

I would watch this FromSoftware's masterpiece.

A movie or TV series adaptation of Elden Ring would be a sight to see, promoting FromSoftware's latest huge hit further as The Last of Us and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners did. Who knows, we might find it on our screens one of these days if George R. R. Martin's recent cryptic message is what we think.

Martin is largely known for his Song of Ice and Fire book series, adapted into Game of Thrones, but he also worked on worldbuilding for Elden Ring, so you can't simply write off his words as baseless rumors, although he tried to present them as such:

"Oh, and about those rumors you may have heard about a feature film or television series based on ELDEN RING… I have nothing to say. Not a word, nope, not a thing, I know nothing, you never heard a peep from me, mum mum mum. What rumor?"

Absolutely, totally not suspicious in the slightest. Martin, together with Hidetaka Miyazaki, received a Nebula Award 2022 for Game Writing thanks to Elden Ring: "I did the worldbuilding for that project; Hidetaka Miyazaki and his team did all the rest," Martin said in his blog post. "We were both honored with trophies."

If the rumor is true, it would be FromSoftware's first show adaptation, and I'm curious to see how its hardcore gameplay would show itself on the screen. So far, the studio hasn't announced anything and would likely keep silent for a while, giving the recent DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, time to shine.

There is also allegedly a mobile Elden Ring experience in the works at Tencent, but we've yet to hear more about it.
