Google has presented a new game called Game Builder that lets users craft simple games. You can put characters and scenery into an empty sandbox to construct a world, use preset commands to set interaction, and more. Free of charge, available on both Windows and macOS.

The game is a title of Area 120, Google’s incubator for experimental projects. The thing is that the game has been available since November 1st, 2018, but Google decided to feature it only a couple of days ago.

“What if creating games could be as easy and fun as playing them? What if you could enter a virtual world with your friends and build a game together in real time? Our team within Area 120, Google’s workshop for experimental projects, took on this challenge. Our prototype is called Game Builder, and it is free on Steam for PC and Mac,” noted the team.

The game also has a co-op mode for multiple people to build games together. Players can also share their creations and browse through the games made by others. The interaction system here works with “if this then that” logic, and you can actually craft custom interactions if know a trick or two in JavaScript.

You can learn more about the project here.
