ArtStudio is just too good not to leave a review for. I’ve been using Photoshop on my PC for drawing, photo editing, and professional work for the past six years and when I finally got an iPad with Apple Pencil support I was really hoping Procreate or one of the numerous other drawing/editing apps would be able to replace the feel of PS. Unfortunately, even though Procreate is indeed an amazing drawing program, it still doesn’t really satisfy my need for the familiar feel of photoshop and drawing with photoshop brushes. ArtStudio Pro solved all my problems. It’s got everything you could need and MORE (I especially love their amazing smoothing/line weight algorithm and pressure customization). It’s basically Photoshop, but without having to pay the ridiculous Adobe subscription every month. The price for this app is perfect, in my opinion (and honestly it’s even a bit low, for all it’s able to accomplish) and I really want to give a huge thank you to everyone who worked on/is working on this app and updating it. You’ve saved me so much money and frustration. Hats of to you!

Guerrilla Cambridge Closes Doors
12 January, 2017
News reports that Sony is closing the Cambridge branch of Guerrilla Games (MediEvil, Primal, Ghosthunter, Killzone Mercenary). All employees laid off. Guerrilla Games Amsterdam, which is working on Horizon: Zero Dawn and the Killzone, will continue to operate and will not be affected. This information was confirmed by Sony, regretting ‘the compulsory redundancies’.

So why did they decide to close the studio? The management reviewed all the current PlayStation projects and resources, concluding that “in order to deliver on our strategic objectives, it is necessary to make some changes to the European studios structure”. If possible developers will be reallocated onto other projects. Sony will also help them to land jobs at local studios, where possible. Cambridge is sprt of a hub for UK deveopers. There’s Frontier, Ninja Theory, Jagex. We’re sure that the talented artists and game developers from this team will find new jobs!

Whilst we accept that this decision will mean that we risk losing high calibre staff, by focusing on other Studios with exciting new projects in development, (including continued work on PlayStation VR), we believe we will be in a stronger position going forward and able to offer the best possible content of the highest quality to our players. This decision should not take anything away from the incredible games and services that Guerrilla Cambridge has delivered.

We invite all the developers from Guerrilla Cambridge to submit their contacts! We’d love to talk with you about your work, your achievements and help to put your name out there.
