Half-Life: Alyx Workshop is Open

A new game update added the Steam workshop support and a few technical features. Get the editing tools now!

Half-Life: Alyx was released almost 2 months ago, and now it got the Steam workshop open. The first release made the editing tools available for the Steam community. The tools allow you to create your own levels, textures, and animations for the VR game.

The first beta release of the tools suite includes:

  • Hammer
  • Material Editor
  • ModelDoc
  • AnimGraph
  • Particle Editor
  • Subrect Editor
  • Source Filmmaker

The update also adds a Linux version of the game using Vulkan rendering API as well as Vulkan on Windows support.

If you want to check out and play the add-ons created by the community, visit the workshop page. For instance, a game developer at Valve Olly Moss has already tried the tools and shared his results on Twitter.
