Very cool review of the making of Spellbreak. Would be even more cool to see some videos inside UE4 showing how they do a few very specific things unique to them.
This was so helpful for me. I'm hoping to adapt your tutorial to pull off something similar comparing modern satellite imagery with historical maps. No topo, so my steps should be simpler, but I'm a novice with Blender and you've really helped. Thanks!
Even Top Notch Artists will be replaced by AI. You have no idea what you are talking about. If you do, only very superficial. At the end you are only an employee. You dont have any contact or experience to the High End Echelons we worked on. In 20 years, 40% of workforce working today will be out of jobs. First we will get worldwide financial crash, then AI takes over. Admin will remember my words in not distance future.
Jonas Ronnegard, a freelance 3D artist, who currently lives and works in Japan, has presented a set of 325 Hardsurface Heigh/Alpha maps plus two great video tutorials about Alpha creation. It’s an awesome package for artists working with Substance Designer and Quixel SUITE. There’s a ton of different content inside, including brushes, maps, tutorials.
UPD: The artist updated his pack increasing its quality.
I finally managed to gather strength to remake all alphas for Hardsurface volume 1. Alphas should now hold the same quality as volume 2 and be usable without problems in ZBrush.
Here is a brief description of a pack:
Sci fi brush and alpha set for Quixel and Substance painter, 325 brushes and height/alpha maps, all 2048×2048 16bit in tiff.
2 Video Tutorials are included:
– Creating alpha/height maps from high poly to use as brush
– Customizing Alphas
Preview sphere from the pictures is also included
These brushes can be used for any program that works with alphas and height maps, you can add to 3Dcoat, mudbox, ZBrush etc.
You can purchase all of these for 5$ or more to support artist and help him make better tutorials. It’s a real bargain! Be sure to check out Jonas’es Artstation page for some great examples of 3d work.
