Heineken Presents The Boring Phone to Save Your Social Life

Now without a selfie camera but with the Snake game.

Staring at your smartphone all day isn't good for your social life, so Heineken collaborated with Bodega and HMD to present The Boring Phone – an old-school device stripped of all fun but distracting features.

"Smartphones are too interesting for social life. They distract us from what’s in front of us, our friends," says the marketing campaign.

The phone has a transparent body, a 0.3-megapixel camera (not for selfies, though), and the Snake game, and that's about all its interesting features. Oh, and it's a flip phone, so you can "end calls with a dramatic snap."

It also has a 2.8-inch QVGA display on the inside, a 1.77-inch display on the outside, a 3.5mm headphone jack and supports calling and texting via 2G, 3G, and 4G.

You might think this is just a marketing stunt to promote drinking Heineken instead of scrolling through Instagram, but the phone is real, although you can't just buy it. The Boring Phones will be given away via social media (ironically).
