Gearbox and Blackbird Interactive are now developing Homeworld 3, the next game in Relic Entertainment’s well-known real-time strategy series.
The previous chapter, Homeworld 2, was released back in 2003, so we’re pretty excited. Still, we’ll have to wait as Gearbox pointed out that Homeworld 3 is still “only a few months into pre-production”.
The publisher wants to find some backers to support development. The goal here is to secure funds through investments and pledges through Fig, with the target set at $1 USD goal.
In the meantime, there’s also the work-in-progress title Homeworld Mobile which is way closer to its release. The Stratosphere team is developing the mobile title set for release next year.
Gearbox added that Homeworld 3 backers will be “guaranteed priority access” to Homeworld Mobile when it launches.
