Import Blender Files Directly Into Unreal Engine With This New Plug-In

The add-on allows you to import Blender source files as assets into the content browser.

Game Developer and Programmer Jonathan Murphy, a.k.a. NuclearFriend, has released Blend File Importer, a brand new plug-in for Unreal Engine that allows you to import Blender source files as assets directly into the content browser.

With this add-on, you can also open the source again in Blender for editing via a newly-added context menu button and then automatically re-import the file to Unreal Engine, enabling a convenient workflow for quickly iterating on 3D assets. According to the plug-in's description, it with Blender 2.83 or above and is compatible with UE4.26-4.27 and UE5. The developer also noted that Blend File Importer is an editor-only plug-in, and it won't import files at run-time.
