The Wysilab team has presented a new version of Instant Terra so it’s time to have a look at the latest features of the terrain tool. Import from a mesh, browse and sort nodes in the Graph explorer, drag and drop nodes from the Models window, and more.
The Import from mesh node is said to generate a terrain from a 3D mesh file. The mesh is transformed into a heightmap by computing a depth projection according to a viewing vector.
Graph Explorer and Models Window
You can use the Graph explorer to browse all the nodes and resources in a project. You can also use a filter to easily find your nodes in a complex graph.
Users have the ability to sort the nodes by category or alphabetically, search them, and drag and drop them into the Graph editor from the Models window.
The team has improved the rock and hydraulic erosion nodes for better results.
“All relevant parameters can be driven by masks, for different effects on different parts of the terrain,” states the team.
The interfaces are said to be redesigned for users to access all the options they need through a simple series of sliders.
