Intel CEO Says AMD Is In the Rear-View Mirror

Pat Gelsinger shares Intel's plans and says AMD will never be "in the windshield."

New Year is the time to reflect and make plans. Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger decided to do just that in his video posted on LinkedIn. Having presided over the company for 11 months, he had plenty of things to think about. One of them was the company's achievements, especially the Alder Lake processor, which, apparently, made Intel's greatest competition AMD lag behind "in the rear-view mirror."

"Alder Lake. All of a sudden... Boom! We are back in the game! AMD in the rear-view mirror in clients and never again will they be in the windshield; we are just leading the market."

Gelsinger believes Intel is in a great position to capture the next phase of compute workloads – at the edge of the network, providing better response time and greater security. He also shares the company's goal to launch five nodes in a four-year time: Intel 7, Intel 4, Intel 3, Intel 20A, and Intel 18A. The CEO wraps up his speech with a promise to be the best CEO and improve people's lives.

Intel sure has some exciting plans with its Arc Alchemist GPUs coming out this year as well as other products promised in the video.
