Intel No Longer Supports DirectX 9 Natively on Arc and Xe GPUs

Games based on DirectX 9 will work through DirectX 12.

Intel stated on its website that it is removing DirectX 9 support from the Xe integrated graphics on 12th generation processors and Arc graphics cards. Now, applications and games based on DirectX 9 will work through DirectX 12 thanks to Microsoft's D3D9On12 interface.

The company notes that the integrated GPUs on the 11th generation and older Intel processors support DirectX 9 natively, but they can be combined with Arc graphics cards, in which case rendering will be handled by the card and the system will be using DX9On12 instead of DirectX 9.
