Compulsion is looking for talented artists to work on We Happy Few. The company is  ready to bring on board new permanent team members, especially talented programmers and 3D environment artists, to help make We Happy Few as great as it can be.  

Senior_3D_Environment_Artist

Candidate:

  • loves creating environment art,
  • has 5 or more years experience working as an environment artist, and has the portfolio to support this,
  • is comfortable with the full range of 3D artist skills, including modelling, texturing, lighting, and composition,
  • has a commitment to creating high quality work and improving their workflow, and
  • is comfortable working closely with team members from other disciplines.

Familiarity with Maya, Substance Painter, UVLayout, Quixel, ZBrush and/or Unreal is a plus.

Intermediate_Gameplay_Programmer

Candidate

  • loves games and creating engaging gameplay,
  • can write and maintain gameplay systems and to teach level designers to use them appropriately,
  • can assist in the evaluation of existing blueprints for stability, coherence and standardization,
  • can extend our story, and moment-to-moment systems and pipelines to help create a compelling game experience, and
  • can participate as part of the design and tech team to evaluate and improve the game as a whole through constructive criticism and creative contributions.

The ideal person for the job would:

  • have a minimum of 3-5 years of industry experience working with the Unreal Engine,
  • have a strong understanding of core mechanics and 3Cs (Character, Controls, Camera),
  • play games regularly and understand the fundamentals of what makes them work,
  • enjoy and thrive at working with people in other disciplines, and
  • be looking to join a top-level and creative independent team.

Senior_AI_Programmer

Candidate:

  • loves games, gameplay and engaging AI behaviour,
  • can write and maintain individual and group behaviors and work directly with the animation and design teams to help in their realization,
  • can create building blocks for level designers to script passive and narrative behaviors while retaining systemic, reactive AI intelligence,
  • can extend and refine unique mechanics surrounding stealth and social conformity, and
  • can work and share with other industry veterans who are passionate about their craft.

The ideal person for the job would:

  • have a minimum of 5 years of industry experience working on AI systems,
  • have a strong understanding of the Unreal Engine (ideally including Unreal Engine 4),
  • be familiar with animation pipelines, state machines, behavior trees, and have worked on group AI behaviors in the past,
  • play games regularly and understand the fundamentals of what makes them work,
  • be technically strong and willing to work closely with designers and animators for this role, and
  • be looking to join a top-level and creative independent team.

3D_Environment_Artist

Candidate:

  • loves creating environment art,
  • has a superb portfolio,
  • is comfortable with the full range of 3D artist skills, including modelling, texturing, lighting, and composition,
  • has a commitment to creating high quality work and improving their workflow, and
  • is comfortable working closely with team members from other disciplines.
