Katsuhiro Otomo Revealed Akira TV Series and A New Film

Great news for the fans of one of the all-time best animes. 

During Los Angeles Anime Expo the Akira creator, Katsuhiro Otomo, announced two new projects.

The legend is now working on an Akira sequel anime series in collaboration with Japanese animation studio Sunrise. The studio states that “fans will be kept up to date about this new anime adaption project as details become available.”

The director has also revealed a new film called Orbital Era, this third anime feature set “in the near future on a space colony under construction”. It is described as “an action adventure story of some boys in this peculiar environment and society who keep living their lives while they’re being tossed about by fate”.
