PGbiz reported that $989m has been pledged to games on crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. The number comes from Quo Vadis 2019, where Kickstarter senior games outreach Anya Combs stated there had been 16,700 successful projects with the total number of 3.2 million backers.
That is said to split across 1.6 million backers for tabletop games and 1.6 million for video games.
16 million people backed projects with 52 million pledges in total.
What is more, 5.2 million people have donated to more than one campaign.
