Kris Costa, an artist at ILM, has reached a new level of photorealism in 3D. The artist has shared a WIP shot behind a larger project he’s working on. Just an eye and a part of a face, but this image will blow you away. Kris has used Arnold, Maya, ZBrush and Photoshop to create this piece.
WIP, part of a larger project currently in development. Still needs work, but good enough to be shared. No scans or photos used. Everything you see was hand painted and hand sculpted.
We’re so excited to see the full project. In the meantime, we’re looking forward to reading your comments about the work. Don’t forget to check out the artist’s portfolio here.
