Linkin Park Has Released an AMV for a Previously Unheard Song

The video features Chester Bennington's vocals and retro-anime-style animations.

Linkin Park has recently released an animated music video for "Lost", the band's previously unheard song written and recorded all the way back in 2003 for Meteora, Linkin Park's second studio album that gave us such legendary classics as "Numb" and "Faint".

Having been recorded almost 20 years ago, the song features the imagery and vocals of the band's late lead vocalist Chester Bennington, who tragically passed away in 2017. According to the band's Mike Shinoda, "finding 'Lost' was like finding a favorite photo you had forgotten you'd taken, like it was waiting for the right moment to reveal itself."

As for the video itself, "Lost" has been directed by pplpleasr and Maciej Kuciara and was inspired by Linkin Park's earlier MVs, early days YouTube AMVs, and old-school anime. Moreover, the team has also utilized the power of AI in production. As stated by Shinoda, an AI was trained on the original anime art created by Lost's directors and then applied to the real-life Linkin Park footage to make the band members look like the anime characters. The AI-related side of the AMV has been handled by Kaiber and Sagans.
