The game's official free-to-play launch took place on February 11, and the game has already become the second most-played game by concurrent counts.
Lost Ark has surpassed 1.3 million concurrent players becoming the second most-played game on Steam by concurrent counts. The official free-to-play launch took place on February 11, and within just a couple of hours, the game already had a peak of 984,111 players.
Initially, the free-to-play MMO was released in South Korea in 2019 for PC. The game found tremendous success in the country, followed by Lost Ark publisher Smilegate deciding to partner with Amazon to bring the game to the western market.
Lost Ark was planned to be launched on Steam on Friday morning, however, due to server deployment issues, it was delayed for nearly six hours. Currently, according to SteamDB lists, the all-time peak of Lost Ark concurrent players amounts to 1,325,305 passing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's record of 1,308,963 players and Dota 2’s of 1,295,114.
Lost Ark became the second most-played game by concurrent player count following just PUBG: Battlegrounds which tops the list with a 3,257,248 all-time peak. Although the game has a long way to go to beat PUBG, that is still an impressive result for the MMO.
