The Marmoset team has presented Marmoset Toolbag 3.03, a free update for all Toolbag 3 users. The new release comes with Mac support, Python scripting, and a host of other features and bug fixes. 

Here is an overview from the team:

PYTHON SCRIPTING

With the addition of Python scripting support, Toolbag can be extended and customized to fill an essential role in your pipeline. We’ve exposed nearly every aspect of Toolbag to empower you and your team to create plugins that automate common tasks. Use Python to import meshes, set up materials, batch render and more. Custom UI support enables you to create an easy to use front end for your plugins. More advanced operations like mesh generation, file format importers, and custom animation logic are possible with our Python plugin system as well.

Writing Custom Shaders For Toolbag 3

Jeff Russell and Chris Perrella teamed up to provide a comprehensive guide to creating custom shaders. Learn how to replace shading models, add inputs, set up bespoke UI controls and soak up tips for more advanced effects.

Python Scripting For Toolbag 3

Jeff Russell wrote an introductory tutorial that covers the basics of creating Python plugins for Toolbag. Learn how to create simple scripts and add UI elements to your plugins.

New Episodes Of Getting To Know Toolbag 3

Our series of video tutorials has two new episodes. In Episode 9, Chris Perrella guest stars to offer an overview of the custom shader system. Episode 10 features a detailed look at Toolbag 3’s animation system. Follow along as Joe Wilson demonstrates how to create an animation of a cat driving a tank from scratch.
