Mars-Like Environment Made in Blender & Unreal Engine 5

Check out this cool scene that looks like the surface of Mars, created by Epic Games' Alec Tucker.

Cinematic Environment Artist at Epic Games Alec Tucker has created a new fantastic environment, powered by Blender and Unreal Engine 5. The project is called Geologist's Lab and it depicts a rocky and red landscape, with a metallic oasis at its center. The piece looks similar to what comes to mind of many people when they think about the looks of Mars' surface.

According to Alec, this is the first time Blender was fully used in one of the artist's environments. "I had an absolute blast learning it and it is quickly becoming my primary modeling application," commented the author. Additionally, Alec used Substance 3D Painter, Megascans, Gaea, DaVinci Resolve, and several Sketchfab assets, listed on the project's ArtStation page.

As mentioned before, Alec Tucker is a 3D Environment Artist at Epic Games who has created a lot of scenes powered by Unreal Engine. From tropical islands to underwater landscapes, from cyberpunk sewers to dark and unwelcoming cities – you can check out all these environments and more by visiting Alec's ArtStation page.
