Goro Fujita has shared his new VR project built in Quill called ‘Marshland Crows’, and it’s something else. Let’s check out his animation.

First, take a look at the original concept:

“I always dreamed of a way to do 3D without losing the charm of 2D paintings…Quill is the solution really. I can’t believe how you can still feel the exact same charm even with a photoreal render approach. Nothing is getting lost. Based on an old speedpainting of mine,” said the artist.

Here are the steps behind the work:

  • Built and animated in VR using Quill
  • Exported alembic to Maya
  • Camera Animation in Maya
  • Shading, Lighting, Rendering in Maya-Redshift
  • Color Grading, Post, and audio in Premiere

Isn’t the whole thing astonishing? Make sure to discuss the work and share your VR art in the comments below.
