It’s not a big surprise really. The game was to close in December, but the timing for layoffs couldn’t be any worse. Apparently now the project will seize to be even earlier. The Twitter is not full of messages from former developers, talking about the layoffs.

The worst thing here is that some ex-Gazillion staff are “reporting that they’re not even being paid their severance or PTO”. To make matters worse their medical insurance will end next week.

Disney announced the closure of Marvel Heroes last week:

We regret to inform our Marvel Heroes fans that we have ended our relationship with Gazillion Entertainment and that the Marvel Heroes games will be shut down. We would like to sincerely thank the players who joined the Marvel Heroes community and will provide any further updates as they become available.

If some of the developers from Gazillion want to do interviews, breakdowns or in any way want to showcase their work, we’d be happy to help.
