Quixel has finally released the all-new Megascans Bridge 2018, the team’s biggest update to the app. Let’s check out what’s new and how it can help you build awesome scenes.

Bridge works with your Megascans account to help speed up, and streamline your workflows so you can focus on creativity. It helps you browse, manage, batch download, and batch export Megascans assets to your favorite tools, including Unreal Engine 4, Unity, 3ds Max and Maya — straight from your desktop.

We’ve been listening closely to your feedback, learning how you use our apps, and actively working to improve these tools. We rebuilt Bridge from the ground up to bring you a major experience upgrade. Here’s what you should look out for.

Lightning fast speed

Bridge has been completely re-designed to ensure that its snappy, responsive, and lightning fast. It comes with an improved look that still feels familiar, and includes all the useful features released earlier with the revamped Megascans Library. You now have a single, cohesive experience whether browsing the Megascans Library in your browser or managing your assets in Bridge – whether online or offline.

Batch download and export

The new app comes with powerful batch download and batch export functions that allow you to process multiple assets at the same time. Select multiple assets and just hit “Download”. You will also be able to track and control the progress of your downloads.

Batch export works the same way. Simply multi-select your downloaded assets and export them to the tool of your choice. You can even set up Bridge to remember your export settings and use these automatically for all future exports. One-click batch export is finally a reality!

Automatically have your meshes and materials set up in the tool of your choice, and never worry about the correct shader setup, or spending time on manually importing maps ever again!

The Live Links rely on Bridge, giving you the best possible browsing, exporting and file management experience for the Megascans Library.

Cross-platform

The latest version of Bridge is now available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. So no matter what platform you work on, you can use Bridge to supercharge your workflows.

Offline Support

Working in offline mode? You can now easily export assets stored on your machine, even when you’re not connected. To enable, simply configure the Bridge license file from your Megascans account within the app.

Automatic App and Plugin Updates

Following this release, all new updates for Bridge will automatically show up in the app when you’re online. In addition to this, whenever an update for a plugin or tool is available, you’ll be able to download it from within the export settings.

You can click on “Check for updates” in the “Help” menu at any time to check if any new goodies are available.
