Mercedes-Benz and NVIDIA Partnership Announced

Two giant companies will work together on producing software-defined vehicles.

During the press conference, NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang and Ola Källenius, CEO of Mercedes-Benz AG announced that companies will team up on creating a brand new in-vehicle computing system with AI capabilities, which will be added to each next-gen Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The aim that companies go for is to evolve the automobile system.

The system will be based on the NVIDIA DRIVE platform and will allow automating driving following regular routes of the owner. The new system will also add applications providing a higher level of safety and convenience. The owner will be able to install applications, software updates, and other services at any time of the life of the car.

 

Together, we’re going to revolutionize the car ownership experience, making the vehicle software programmable and continuously upgradeable via over-the-air updates. Every future Mercedes-Benz with the NVIDIA DRIVE system will come with a team of expert AI and software engineers continuously developing, refining, and enhancing the car over its lifetime.”
