Meta Reportedly Aims to Release Its First AR Glasses by 2024

The company is reportedly planning to release the first version of its Project Nazare by 2024 with Mark Zuckerberg seemingly considering the launch of the new device as an "iPhone moment".

According to a former employee who previously worked on the project, Mark Zuckerberg considers Nazare as an "iPhone moment". Although Meta reportedly aims to sell the device to "the low tens of thousands" mainly targeting early adopters and developers.

As The Verge reported, Meta currently doesn't have a "working, wearable prototype", however, its plans seem pretty ambitious as along with Nazare the company intends to launch a lower-end pair of AR glasses that are also slated for 2024 and hopes to "be selling tens of millions" of them "towards the end of this decade".
