Lovely work ! You mentioned "When lighting the scene, I used Light Functions to create the illusion of light passing through clouds, thus lighting the environment unevenly" do you think you could show what is the setup to get such a precise result ?(meaning highlight the area you want?)

Amazing art. I'm curious how the rocks manage to be such a natural part of the terrain! It really looks like they have been there for ages.

Metal Gear Solid V Made $179 Million on Opening Day

News

It has recently been revealed that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain raked in an unbelievable $179 million in global sales within the first 24 hours, which is more than double the amount it cost to develop the game.

mgs-history-80lvIt was obviously known that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was a huge hit at launch, but details to just how successful it was, wasn’t known until now. A recent report unveiled the that on the opening day, the title made $179 million in global sales, which equals to around 3 million units sold internationally.

The most mind-blowing thing about this success is that it cost Konami $80 million to make this game and within a day they were able to make over double what they paid for the cost of development. And with more titles waiting to be released in the coming months, Metal Gear Solid V still has enough time to capitalize on this and make more sales, which will potentially break the 10 million unit count.

Metal Gear Solid is a beloved and extremely successful series that has continued to thrive and survive since 1987. With every new title that comes out, they improve upon the previous title and it’s amazing how far it has progressed – but I mean, when you have someone like Hideo Kojima masterminding it all, it’s not all that surprising is it?
