The project was presented at the Magic Leap L.E.A.P. event by Andrew Rabinovich, head of AI at Magic Leap, and John Monos, head of human-centered AI. The developers took some time to talk about digital humans and AI-based virtual avatars that will become real in the coming years.
These avatars can be described as embodied Amazon Alexa smart speakers. The AI will get to know you and your emotions, remember your actions and tastes.
Magic Leap is said to roll out avatar chat for its users later this year. Mica is powered by Unreal Engine 4 be the way according to Nick Whiting from Epic Games.
