The new studio will be focusing on adventure games as the team announced.
Microids Studio Lyon opened on June, 7. David Chomard, who spent ten years working in the game development industry is Studio Director at Microids Studio Lyon. The team is currently looking for new talents to join the Lyon studio and is planning to hire two dozen professionals including artists and programmers.
"Since Microids had a 64% turnover increase between 2019 and 2020, it appeared logical for us to create a new studio while strengthening the existing projects and investments with the long-time partner studios. We are delighted to entrust David Chomard, former Atari (former Infogrames Entertainment) employee, with the reins of this new studio. His experience and expertise will be crucial,” comments Stéphane Longeard, CEO of Microids.
"I am delighted to once again work with Microids and leading this new studio. The production of a video game is a true adventure and I can’t wait to share more about the upcoming games developed by Microids Studio Lyon," says David Chomard, Director of Microids Studio Lyon.
Microids is the company behind the Syberia series, Asterix & Obelix games, and Dracula point-and-click adventure. As the team announced in their latest post, they are now working on over 25 new titles.
