Microsoft Discussed Their Touchable Holograms

Learn more about Microsoft Mixed Reality Studios' experiments on immersive interactions with holograms.

Microsoft Mixed Reality Studios released a talk about exploring immersive interactions with holograms. Published on medium.com, the talk sheds some light on Microsoft's HoloLens 2 and its intricacies. The team discussed programming different gestures that make holograms do almost whatever one desires, and different concepts like “surface gravity,” which gives objects gravity when there is a surface below to fall onto.

"With our prototypes, we contribute towards a vision of more immersive, playful, and open-ended interactions to cultivate the inquisitive and creative nature of people to explore and interrogate virtual experiences. It is the beginning of an exciting journey to discover how these types of new interactions come to life across diverse and multifaceted user experiences and use cases," comments the team.
