Minecraft Terrain Generator Being Created in Blender

The generator is powered by Geometry Nodes and is currently WiP.

3D Artist and Blender enthusiast Samuel "SamHatesUnicorns" Francis has recently shared a brief demo, showcasing a mind-blowing work-in-progress Minecraft terrain generator being created in Blender.

Powered by the software's Geometry Nodes toolset, the generator enables one to quickly and easily set up Minecraft-style pixelated environments, complete with trees, grass, mountains, and more, with the creator also planning to add the ability to paint in small bodies of water like ponds and rivers with vertex groups. According to Samuel, the generator will be available via Gumroad once it is fully complete and optimized.

Last week, the artist also released Blender Auto-Terrainer, a cool procedural generator for Blender that can turn any low poly mesh into realistic and customizable terrain. With Blender Auto-Terrainer, you can effortlessly create various landscapes, such as mountains, valleys, islands, deserts, forests, and more, and customize the generated biomes' features to better suit your needs. You can learn more and download the generator here.
