More Than 12M People Played Starfield

Phil Spencer says that it's a "tremendous hit".

During the recent CCXP event, Xbox's Head Phil Spencer shared that Bethesda's Starfield, which was released in September, became a "tremendous hit". As we previously reported, the game was the biggest launch for Bethesda, with more than 6 million people playing it eight days after the early access began and just two days after the official release for everyone.

"Starfield has now had over 12 million players since the launch of Starfield, and it still sits in our top 10 most-played games from our studios. So thank you, everybody, for all the support on Starfield, and making it a tremendous hit," said Spencer.

Spencer also shared that Starfield will receive additional content in the future, potentially including story expansions. Bethesda wants to keep players engaged even 10 years later, similar to the longevity of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Spencer is confident that the story expansions and mod support will ensure Starfield maintains its prominence in the gaming charts for years to come.

While Bethesda has not announced the specific release date or details of the Shattered Space add-on for Starfield, speculations suggest it may launch in 2024 alongside a mod creation tool previously announced by the studio. In addition to developing the DLC, Bethesda is actively working on patches for Starfield.

Well, while Phil Spencer is defending the game and calling it a hit, people aren't that satisfied with Starfield, and it's obvious if you check out the Steam page.
