Mushroom Hunting in Blender by Ian Hubert

Ian Hubert shared his awesome new work made with photogrammetry and tools in Blender.

Have a look at a new project in Blender by Ian Hubert. The video features a man on a hoverboard looking for mushrooms in a stunning dense forest made with photogrammetry. The artist noted that he is usually doing mocap with a Rokoko, but this time he mostly used noise modifiers, and "a little hand animation to make him look around."

The artist also shared some details on his photogrammetry approach. "RealityCapture has really convenient tools for reducing the polycount, too (I usually aim for 100,000 or so), then I convert the generated texture into a lower-res jpg, just to keep everything as lightweight as possible," wrote Hubert.

What do you think about the project? What do you like to discover a forest on a hoverboard? Share your thoughts in the comments.
