Their website does say that you can pay per image at $1 per image. I am in the opposite boat though. I could see this having a very significant effect on photogrammetry but I would need to process a few thousand images at a time which would not be very feasible with their current pricing model
To the developers. A very promising piece of software for a VFX supervisor like me. BUT, please reconsider your pricing tiers and introduce a per-image price. We are a pretty large facility, but I can only imagine needing about 1-10 images a month at the very most. It's like HDRI's - we buy them all the time, one at a time. They need to be individually billed so a producer can charge them against a particular job.
ArtStation is launching another Community Challenge next Monday. The team is going to announce the new panel of industry expert judges, hosts and really fun theme.
If you followed the last challenge, then you’ll be familiar with how this will work. The first phase of the challenge will be dedicated to concept design. Participants will have 4 weeks to deliver their keyframe, character or environment concept art. The second phase will be more geared towards production and participants will be given 8 weeks to deliver their final submission with the option again of using a concept from Phase 1 or creating their own. (Some might even choose to participate in both phases!)
The categories for the upcoming challenge are:
- Concept Art – Keyframe
- Concept Art – Character Design
- Concept Art – Environment Design
- 3D/Realtime Game Character Art
- 3D/Realtime Game Environment Art
- 3D/Pre-rendered Character Art
- 3D/Pre-rendered Digital Matte Painting
The team has also upped the number of hosts in these categories to make sure that challengers will be getting helpful feedback from hosts to bring their work to the next level.
Registration for Phase 1 of the new challenge begins next Monday, June 26, 2017.
