Netflix has announced some neat anime projects recently: a live-action version of Cowboy Bebop, new Pacific Rim and Altered Carbon shows, but it appears that there’s more to their plan.

The giant has announced that a new Ghost in the Shell anime is coming — Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045. It will be directed by Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed), and Kenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex). A little is known about the upcoming project, but it will be released sometime in 2020.

Not an anime fan? Ghost in the Shell is a long-running anime franchise that began building its fan base in 1989. The story follows a cyborg named Major Motoko Kusanagi who worked in a counter-cyberterrorist organization called Public Security Section 9. Then it was adapted into a feature film in 1995.
