Former Call of Duty producer Pete Blumel; movie and TV production specialist, Cathy Twigg and start-up guru, Hrish Lotlikar annonced the creation of their brand new VR studio called the Rogue Initiative, which will be based in Los Angeles. It is reported that the studio will focus on developing VR content of high production value.

The Rogue Initiative is a Los Angeles-based virtual reality and digital entertainment studio composed of award-winning industry veterans including alumni from Amblin Entertainment, Pixar, Dreamworks Animation, Sony Pictures, Disney, Treyarch and Infinity Ward.

We are creating cinematic content and immersive worlds for virtual reality, video games, film, and television.

The Rogue Initiative

Studio will not only use headsets like PlayStation VR or Oculus Rift, but aso target game arcades, augmented reality, Netflix and cable TV to generate revenue. Little is known about studio’s future projects, but episodic tentpole franchise, a psychological thriller, and a stylizaed animated adventure are said to be in production.
