NieR Automata Has Sold Over 7.5 Million Copies

The newly achieved sales milestone can likely be attributed to the recent Nintendo Switch release.

PlatinumGames and Square Enix announced that the sales of NieR: Automata, a 2017 action role-playing game and a sequel to the 2010's NieR, which is itself a spin-off of the Drakengard series, have just exceeded 7.5 million copies, marking one more million of units sold since the previous update back in June 2022.

Initially released for PC and PlayStation 4, the award-winning game recently got a long-awaited Nintendo Switch port, which featured all the previously released DLCs, as well as some new exclusive outfits. The release enabled multiple new players to access NieR: Automata and is likely one of the key reasons behind the newly achieved sales milestone.
