No Place for Bravery: Dark Action RPG Set in a Brutal Fantasy World

Fight through an array of enemies to find and rescue your long-missing daughter.

Take a look at No Place for Bravery – an upcoming story-driven action RPG from developer Glitch Factory and publisher Ysbryd Games. The game is set in a brutal and dark fantasy world called Dewr and features an old-school hand-painted pixel-art style.

In this new 2D top-down game you will be put in the armor of Thorn, a retired warrior who, after a cruel war, laid down his sword and turned to a quiet life of tavern-keeping but had to venture on the last journey to find his long-missing daughter.

Playing as Thorn, you'll be accompanied by his disabled foster son, Phid – together you'll have to investigate your daughter's disappearance, fighting through numerous enemies, from bandits to monsters, and going through multiple challenges. Along your journey, you'll find new weapons and items and unlock new abilities you can use in combat.

"The fantastical spaces of video games allow us to explore important questions about our real-life roles and responsibilities," Glitch Factory's Matheus Queiroz said. "In the exaggerated fantasy of Dewr, we can test Thorn’s role as a father against extreme conditions you can’t replicate in the real world. At those extremes, No Place for Bravery ponders the difference between a rescue mission and a vengeful crusade."

No Place for Bravery is scheduled for release on September 22, 2022. It will be available for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
