Facebook accidentally leaked its next VR headset.
The Oculus Quest 2 headset was accidentally leaked by Facebook in two promotional videos. The videos even featured a comprehensive breakdown of the new headset's technical specs. The demo was originally set for the Facebook Connect conference on September 16 and September 17, but something went wrong.
This standalone upgrade to 2019’s first version appears to have an almost 4K display according to the leaked video, so each eye will get 2K resolution meaning that the upgrade will bring 50% greater resolution than the first headset As for the RAM, it will have 6 GB compared to 4 GB in the previous device and the storage was doubled to 256 GB compared to 128 GB.
Andrew Bosworth, the vice president of Facebook Labs, confirmed the news via Twitter and revealed that they will share more details on Wednesday at 1 p.m. ET.
