Facebook officially showed their new VR device.
The Oculus Quest 2 has been officially revealed during the Facebook Connect conference, Quest 2 will bring sharper displays with a 50 percent higher resolution, 90Hz refresh rates, and a price of $299.
The team reported that the Quest 2 will feature fast-switching LCDs with a resolution of 1832 by 1920. Mix that number with 90Hz refresh rates and you get smooth VR experiences. Please note that a faster rate won’t be available at launch, and it will be 72Hz for some time.
They also noted that the new headset is around 10 percent lighter than before, and there’s a new head strap made of a flexible material.
Facebook wants to make Quest 2 more customizable offering different faceplate options for wider and narrower heads. You can also get the previous head strap that comes as a premium option with enough space for a rear battery pack.
