"The technology behind AI illustrations will be very useful in the future."
AI-generated art is a sensitive topic now, with people getting concerned about it taking away specialists' jobs. However, Persona producer Kazuhisa Wada believes the tech "will be very useful in the future".
As reported by Atlus SEA, he is interested in the progress of AI and thinks it is handy when it comes to early concept and idea formation stages of development. The art team has even been talking about implementing AI in their workflow.
"As for what I'm interested in, the progress of AI has been quite intriguing," Wada shared. "I think the technology behind AI illustrations will be very useful in the future. For example, when coming up with rough ideas, an AI can continuously output one idea after another, something that a single artist might struggle with. So I think that for early concept and idea formation, we could use AI right away. Our art team has been talking about wanting to implement AI."
It seems like the team might use AI art sparingly, but it is still a slippery path as such models feed on real artists' works, which is the main issue many have with them.
Based on Wada's statement, we could see a Persona game made with help from AI one day. What do you think about it?
