Sony Computer Entertainment reports about an astounding global PS4 sales numbers.

Everyone knows PlayStation 4 is a successful machine but now we know exactly how well does this console sells. Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE) announced that the PlayStation 4 (PS4) has cumulatively sold over 30.2 million units worldwide since its launch.

PS4 has a lot of advantages. The console features a lot of great AAA-games, a vast library of indie titles and various multimedia opportunities. Sony also provides PlayStation Plus membership service, which opens access to free games, sales and multiplayer options.

While everything seems to be all right, there are some rumors that Sony might be closing the doors for indie developers. PlayStation Store is already overflowed with small indie games and there’s no telling how much more the platform is willing to take.

Sony is actually making a huge step into VR as well. Some analysts believe the company will be able to make its PlayStation VR one of the biggest competitors in this category. We’ll just have to wait and see, but judging by the sales so far, Sony might sell millions of its virtual reality headsets in 120+ countries all over the world.
