Preview: iClone Unreal Pipeline Update in July

The team prepared a bunch of cool new features.

Reallusion shared a preview of the upcoming iClone Unreal Pipeline update in July. The team promises to add a number of highly-wished features in iClone 7.8, Unreal Live Link 1.2, and Auto Setup 1.1

New features:

  • Shader Compatibility. The update will bring the latest Digital Human Shader for eye elements and SkinGen compatibility
  • Soft Cloth Physics. Users will be able to transfer iClone Soft Cloth Physics and Collision Mesh to Unreal Engine, with compatible NVIDIA PhysX cloth effects. Please note that the features are applicable both for FBX import and Live Link transfer. 
  • Prop Transfer and Skin Bone Animation. You can transfer both static props and props with skin bone animation with Live Link to Unreal in real-time.
  • Update in iClone 7.8: SSS Shader for Accessories & Props. You can use SSS shaders in iClone 7.8 for both props and accessories. There's a new SSS Material Library featuring a number of translucent rendering options such as jelly, glass, skin, and soft plastics. The new SSS effects can also be used in Unreal Engine.
