Am I tripping? I Always thought "pixel art" was based on those 8-bit old games, with hard pixels and little shapes to form scenes. THis is NO PIXEL ART in my conception, but mere digital images.

A small Russian studio, NeuronHaze, has recently launched its project on Steam Greenlight. Project Genom is an online multiplayer game that has massive arenas, incredible mechanics, and wonderful visuals powered by UE4.

Project Genom is a sci-fi MMORPG set in a beautiful alien world rendered through the power of Unreal Engine 4 with a heavy emphasis on non-target combat and planetary exploration. Witness fascinating xeno flora in the sunset of three stars on the planet of Avalon or fight the aggressive and bizarre alien wildlife. You’ll have a chance to discover how to use the planet’s resources to create technological wonders, find out the secrets of an ancient race, and learn to tame extraordinary creatures as companions.

Project Genom is a very ambitious indie project. The game has been developed for a number years by a very small team: 5 technical specialists and artists, 3 community and PR managers. The creation of this huge game became possible thanks to the usage of Unreal Engine 4, which greatly sped up the development.

We chose UE4, because it’s the most technologically advanced and usable engines on the market right now. UE4 is probably the best engine we’ve had the pleasure to work with. This tool was a great help in speeding up the development. Without it, Project Genome would never become a reality.

Project Genome is now on Steam Greenlight and we strongly encourage you to check it out. The alpha version of the game will be available later this year.
