Quixel to Support NVIDIA MDL

Quixel announced that they teamed up with NVIDIA to support the Material Definition Language (MDL) format. 

Quixel announced that they teamed up with NVIDIA to support the Material Definition Language (MDL) format.

NVIDIA wants MDL to allow artists for a single material definition across different apps, renderers, and real-time engines.

“Providing Megascans assets in the MDL format will allow for seamless and reliable transmission of material data across 3D programs and renderers,” wrote Quixel. “As an artist, this means less guesswork and more great looking materials.”

As of this moment, Chaos Group V-Ray, Epic Games Unreal Studio, NVIDIA Iray, and SOLIDWORKS Visualize are all MDL-enabled applications.
