Red Dead Redemption Earned $725 Million in 3 Days

Rockstar made a game, which had the biggest opening weekend in entertainment product history.

In just three days the company managed to sell through $725 million in copies worldwide, IGN reports. This is not the biggest overall launch. The record there is held by GTAV, which was actually released on Tuesday. Still, it’s enough to pay the bills and hand out some hefty bonuses to the team. God knows they deserve it.

Rockstar did not share the exact number of sold copies, but with a little math you can figure out it’s closer to 10 million units. This is the number of sales directly to the customers. So the amount which was actually shipped to retailers is probably bigger.

Needless to say that we’re incredibly happy for Red Dead Redemption 2, which exemplifies what modern games should be about. Hopefully, we’ll be able to share our thoughts about this product once we get a bit more into it in November. Let us know in the comments if you’d like to read our impressions.
