Resident Evil Village Ships 4 Million Copies

The previous installment of the series Resident Evil 7 needed 10 months to reach that number.

Capcom shared the new sales figure for Resident Evil Village in a press release on Thursday. According to Capcom, the latest entry to the Resident Evil series has now reached 4 million copies shipped globally. This number includes sales of digital versions as well.

There's still a lot of room to grow though because RE7 has shipped 9 million units as of March 31, 2021. In total, the Resident Evil franchise has sold more than 100 million units, which makes it one of the biggest gaming series on the planet.

"Capcom remains firmly committed to satisfying the expectations of all stakeholders by leveraging its industry-leading game development capabilities," claims the publisher.
