Rumor: Official PlayStation 3 Emulator Is in Development

Jeff Grubb hopes to see it sometime soon.

PlayStation 5 is a great gaming system, but PS3 also had some awesome games that many players would love to experience anew. Alas, there is no official solution yet, but there might soon be.

According to insider Jeff Grubb, Sony could be working on a native PlayStation 3 emulator. He actually thought it would be revealed earlier this year, he mentioned during the Game Mess Mornings podcast, but Sony is silent about it for now.

As usual, this is only a rumor and doesn't mean we will ever see this backward compatibility, but it would be nice to play Metal Gear Solid 4, Resistance: Fall of Man, and Sonic '06 again.

You can enjoy older games on RPCS3, an unofficial PS3 emulator created by fans, but a native solution would still be much appreciated.
