Do you know about Lost Alpha, a massive remake of the original Shadow of Chernobyl that recreates that original game from the ground up, bringing gameplay elements from the very first trailer? The first release of Lost Alpha was not so good, but the massive patch released this week makes this project far more interesting.
Earlier, Dezowave’s Lost Alpha had a massive re-launch under the Developer’s Cut banner earlier this year. The team released improvements to performance, stability and packs of new content to bring some life to the remake. The new release update (full patch notes) features an outstanding list of tweaks and changes, mostly balance and polish-oriented, with several improvements related to the renderer and engine.
The simulationist/survival aspects have been updated too. Healing in combat is not such an easy job now. You have to holster your weapon, apply medkit, and wait for your stats to restore. What is more, hunger and dehydration will wake you from your sleep, not just silently kill you.
