Silent Hill 2 Remake Release Date Announced with a New Trailer

In my restless dreams, I see updated visuals.

Silent Hill 2 Remake, the eagerly anticipated survival horror classic, finally has a confirmed release date. Announced during PlayStation's latest State of Play, the game will be launching on October 8 this year, both on PS5 and PC via Steam.

An extended look at the gameplay was provided during the Silent Hill Transmission via footage of 13 minutes as well as the new trailer.

Earlier this year, the first trailer was published by Konami but received a lot of criticism from fans. Even the CEO of Bloober Team commented that it didn't reflect the "spirit of the game." This has made some players uneasy about the upcoming game.

According to the joint statement by Motoi Okamoto, the game’s Producer from Konami, and Mateusz Lenart, Creative Director & Lead Designer from Bloober Team:

“In order to meet such high expectations, we have taken ample polishing time and carefully decided on when we would be able to deliver the game with confidence.”

Their efforts seem to have paid off. The latest unveiled gameplay has been more positively received for it's updated visuals compared with the first one. Furthermore, the Bloober Team, who expressed "very confident about the final result," have significantly raised hopes for the final game.

The presale for the game already started, with the Standard Edition priced at $69.99. You can check it out on Steam.

You can check out the PlayStation blog for more information about the game, including a comparison with the original game in regards to narrative and gameplay, and the full Transmission can be viewed on YouTube.
