Silent Hill Creator Would Like to Make Another Psychological Horror

Keiichiro Toyama said he wants to create another game like Silent Hill someday.

Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama in the Q&A session with his Bokeh Game Studio said that he would like to create another psychological horror someday. He mentioned that he'd prefer to work on it with limited resources – the budget or the number of characters. For now, however, Toyama has the ability to work on an action game Slitterhead – the studio's first project.

While Slitterhead is not purely horror, the action game won't let you stay calm and collected.

"I wanted to widen the player base who could access the game, including players who don't usually play horror games," said Toyama. "I wanted a game that could be enjoyed for its action, yet whose concept doesn't solely revolve around killing enemies. It conflicts the mind, making the players reluctant to enter certain fights. I want to achieve both action and drama with this game."

The game's CTO and Game Director Junya Okura also mentioned that the developers "want to focus on entertainment rather than plain horror," so the players shouldn't find themselves stuck because of fear.

There isn't much information about the game yet, so stay tuned for the second part of the Q&A on March 4 to get more details.
