Snap partnered with a number of studios to release new Lenses and new tools for the Lens Studio to make the creation of AR effects much simpler.
Snap has also presented an interactive path template that provides developers with an easy way to bring characters to life. Game studio Klei Entertainment built the first Lens with Chester from Don’t Starve. When using the Chester Lens, you create a path for the creature to follow by dragging a finger along your device’s surface. Other developers can also use the same effect.
What is more, Snap has also found a way to mix the Lens Studio and Allegorithmic’s Substance Painter to make switching from one to the other much easier. The company is serious about AR, that’s for sure. More Lenses for the app — more users and longer time spent on the platform. An ideal formula, right?
